How your Interac e-Transfer is protected


Your purchase will be shipped to you without the seller ever seeing your financial details.

When you send money using Interac e-Transfer, your money never actually travels by email or text message.
Email and text messages are only used to notify the recipient and to provide instructions on how to deposit the money.

Both the seller's and the buyer's financial institutions transfer the funds using established and secure banking procedures.

Items are promptly shipped once the payment has cleared. Updated email notices and tracking will be sent within 24 hours.

How to send an INTERAC e-Transfer


Step by Step 

(These steps are a “General” description only).  Please consider this as "General information only".
Every financial institution will be a bit different and may have these steps arranged in a slightly different order.   The categories may be a variation of the following and titles/names may or may not be the same.

 
Sending an INTERAC e-Transfer
For Canadians Only


Receiving directions can be found below


1.  Sign up for online banking (if you haven't already done so).

2.  Get your recipient's email address or mobile phone number. 

       Make sure that your recipient has an online account with a Canadian financial institution ()
       Our email address:   interac@killmansimportexport.com

 

3.   Login to your online bank account as per usual.

4.  When you arrive at your actual account page, look at all available menus until you find “Transfers”,
      then INTERAC e-Transfer (or similar).  It is however an INTERAC e-Transfer link that you are ultimately looking for.

       This should bring you to a screen with options such as:

5.  Transfer To:

     Add recipient (Click on the “Add recipient” link which will likely be somewhere in this area)

     Next you will see a screen asking for:

     Name:  KILLMAN'S IMPORT EXPORT

     Email Address:  interac-e-transfers@killmansimportexport.com


      Mobile Phone Number  ---------
      (Not needed in this case as you will be using our email address)


6.  Preferred Language: “English”

7.  Send Transfer Notification By: “Email”

8.   Somewhere you will see an area asking for Security information eg.  You will need to create a Transaction Security 
       Question and a Security Answer that will be used as our password that only you, the buyer, and this seller will know.

       Ask us (KILLMAN'S IMPORT/EXPORT) a question directly pertaining to this item/transaction that only we will be able to answer.

      Please note: Each item has both a Title and an Item Number. (You may wish to use either one or the other but not both when you tell us in your optional note what you are paying for. Then you may wish to ask us for the part you left out as the Security Question.

      Also if you are purchasing jewelry, many of our pieces are Certified by a Gemologist Certificate or a Vendor's Certificate. Therefore the  Certificate Number or Date could be used to form your Security Question.

        IF YOU WISH TO TO MAKE THIS TRANSACTION EVEN SAFER, (PHONE US 1-866-384-0890)  WITH A TOTALLY UNRELATED QUESTION AND ANSWER THAT  CANNOT BE QUESSED AT OR POSSIBLY BE FOUND ON ANY WEBSITE CONTAINING INFORMATION REGARDING KILLMAN'S IMPORT/EXPORT OR ANY OF ITS  WEBSITES CONTENTS.                                                                                               
      

9.  Please note:  In the unlikely event that your email is compromised, please be advised that
      Killman's Import/Export will not responsible for the interception and misuse of your funds by any 
      third party. 


10.  At some point after this you will be asked to click:  “Add Recipient”
         NEXT . . . . You should be at an Add Recipient Confirmation Screen . . .where you will get an opportunity to check the accuracy of each category.          

Click: CONFIRM or similar when you are ready (if there appears an area to do so). 

A Confirmation area or page showing you that the recipient has been added for 
          this transaction will likely appear.

Now you should see (or similar):

11.  Transfer To:  interac@killmansimportexport.net

12.  Send By:    Email

13.  Transfer From "John Smith", <<  your name here.

         (You should see a choice of Bank Accounts to choose from, eg. Chequing, Savings etc . . .)

14.  Amount:  $XXX.00

15.  Message: You should see a box where you can leave an optional message.
        
Please put an appropriate amount of identifying information regarding the item you are now paying for. 
       

  Additionally:  
         Please be sure to add in your shipping address and phone number(We will only phone you if absolutely necessary).

         You will probably get another Confirmation Screen (or two) with all of the aforementioned information and categories. Additionally you will see if 
         there are any Service Charges or Fees depending on how your account is set up. You should receive a receipt with a Transaction or Confirmation Number.

How to receive an INTERAC e-Transfer

Step by Step

Every financial institution will be a bit different and may have these steps arranged in a slightly different order.   The categories may be a variation of the following and titles/names may or may not be the same.


Receiving an INTERAC e-Transfer
 

1.  You should receive an Interac e-Transfer within about 30 minutes to 2 hours after it was sent.

2.  Open the Interac email e-Transfer Notification.

3.  Click “Action Required” or similar when told to do so. 
       You should find a link with an url to click. Eg. https://etransfer.interac.ca/123AbC

       Next you will likely find a screen with a title such as:

4.  “Deposit Your Transfer”  
        You will find a selection of financial institutions (banks) and/or a drop-down menu to chose from. 
        Credit Unions may have their own separate drop-down menu.

5.   You will likely be asked to select your Province.

        When you have filled out all of the above fields . . .

6.   You should come across a place to click “DEPOSIT”  
        Then you should end up at a screen where you will be asked to login to your bank, financial institution or credit union.

7.    Login as per usual for your Debit/Bank Card. 
         A screen with a notice, title or name such as . . .  Receive Interac e-Transfer should appear.

8.   To accept or decline the transfer you will have to answer the Security Question.

9.    The screen will say something to the effect of:

         Transfer Details ______________________ has sent you $XXX.00

         Security Question: ____________________________.

         Security Answer  _____________________________.

         Continue | Cancel
 

10.  After you click Continue you should arrive at a screen where it tells you that you have correctly answered the security question.

11.   You will be asked to indicate if you wish to accept or decline this transfer.

          Example:

          I would like to Decline this transfer.

         Accept this transfer and place it in my account.


12.   You will see an area where you will choose which account to deposit it to.

13.   You will also likely be given the opportunity to send a message to the sender of the e - Transfer.

14.   You will receive an INTERAC e-Transfer Receipt stating the Transfer Status.

          Example:

          Date

         From

         Deposited To

         Amount

         Message to Sender

         Confirmation Number
